Beethoven Piano Competition Winners

We are thrilled to announce the successful results of our talented studio students at the recent Beethoven Piano Competition!

Lucy Wang (9th Grade, The Athenian School) was awarded 2nd Place.

Aimee Ng (7th Grade, Windermere Ranch Middle School) and Olivia Chiu (3rd Grade, Tassajara Hill Elementary School) both received 3rd Place.

Lucy Wang wins at Salzburg International Competition

Lucy Wang, a ninth-grade student at Athenian High School and a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, has received a prestigious First Prize. She earned the award in the Piano category at the Salzburg International Competition for her impressive performance of a Beethoven Sonata.

Congrats Aimee!

Aimee Ng, a talented student of ATP Windemere Ranch Middle School, has earned a place in Colburn Music School’s summer program at the remarkable age of 9 and has been recognized with the prestigious Brown Prize in the American Classical Music Award. Congratulations, Aimee.

Congratulations are in order for Olivia Chiu, a dedicated student of our studio from Tassajara Hill Elementary School, on her notable achievement of securing 2nd place at the American Protege New York Spring 2026 concert at Carnegie Hall.

Lucy Wang, a student at the Athenian School and a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, has won the first prize for her performance of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Op. 53.

Additionally, Eliezer Kumar-Lau of Diablo Vista Middle School earned the silver prize at the American Classical Music Award in New York for his rendition of Debussy’s Toccata.

Jeffrey Yin wins Paris International Music Competition

A huge congratulations to Jeffrey Yin, a talented 13-year-old student from Iron Horse Middle School, who achieved a remarkable first place at the prestigious 2025 International Music Competition of Paris, France. His winning performance featured a piece by Poulenc.

Being recognized and inducted into the Steinway Hall of Fame is a milestone I never truly expected, and it represents a profound validation of the dedication and passion I have poured into teaching the art of piano over the years. The entire experience was humbling, and I feel immense gratitude to be placed among such an esteemed group of educators and artists.

This recognition is not just for me; it reflects the commitment and hard work of all my students—past and present—who inspire me every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Steinway & Sons for this incredible honor, and to everyone who has supported me on this journey. It was a truly unforgettable event!

Jasper wins at the Berlin Classical Music Competition

Nine-year-old Jasper Ouyang from The Quarry Lane School secured a phenomenal 4th place in the prestigious Berlin Classical Music Competition. His extraordinary achievement on the global stage, showcasing his dedication and talent, came from a masterful rendition of Frédéric Chopin’s Berceuse in D-flat Major, Op. 57. Jasper’s sensitivity, musicality, and impressive technical control captivated the judges in this international competition. Achieving such a high ranking at a young age is an extraordinary feat, honoring his family, teachers, and The Quarry Lane School, and foreshadowing a promising musical future.
